How to Work With the Energy Before the Spring Equinox

A Pisces Season Reflection and Somatic Integration Practice

The days leading up to the Spring Equinox can feel subtle, emotional, or even disorienting.

Something is shifting, but not quite visible yet.

In astrology, this marks the end of Pisces season, the final chapter of the astrological year before Aries begins again.

This is not a time of initiation.

This is a time of integration.

And the body often knows that before the mind does.

Why This Time of Year Feels So Unclear

Pisces is often associated with dreams, intuition, and the unseen.

Unlike more structured or action-oriented seasons, this period can feel like moving through water. Less linear, more symbolic.

You may notice:

  • Vivid dreams or fragmented memories

  • Emotional waves without a clear reason

  • A sense of something ending, but not fully resolved

Pisces does not tend to speak in direct language.

It speaks in images. In sensations. In quiet, kismet moments.

Nothing is a coincidence right now.

A Somatic Perspective: Integration Happens in the Body

From a somatic lens, this period mirrors what happens in the nervous system after a cycle of activation.

There is a natural shift toward slowing down, processing, and making meaning.

In approaches like Somatic Experiencing, integration is not something we force. It is something we allow.

The body completes loops in its own timing.

You might feel:

  • The need for more rest

  • A pull toward stillness or reflection

  • Subtle sensations arising such as tightness, warmth, heaviness, or release

This is not stagnation.

This is your system metabolizing experience.

Working With This Energy

Rather than trying to figure everything out, this is a moment to listen differently.

  1. Track what is arising

Not analytically, but through sensation.

  • What sensations are present in your body

  • Where do you feel contraction or openness

  • What keeps returning to your awareness

This supports interoception, your ability to sense internally, which is foundational in somatic work.

2. Journal without needing answers

If journaling is supportive for you, let it be fluid.

You might explore:

  • What am I still trying to make sense of

  • What has been coming to my mind’s eye

  • What themes have shaped the past year

  • Is anything asking to be released

Let the writing be incomplete. Let it be nonlinear.

3. Add a simple somatic practice

Bring the body into the process.

  • Sit or lie down somewhere comfortable

  • Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly

  • Take a few slow, natural breaths

  • Notice what shifts or stays the same

You might also gently sway, stretch, or move in a way that feels intuitive.

Even a few minutes can support integration.

A Ritual for Release Before the Equinox

If it feels supportive, you can create a simple closing ritual.

  • Write down what you are ready to release

  • Speak it out loud or silently

  • Take a breath and imagine offering it back, whether to the earth, the ocean, or something larger than you

Pisces can feel like a matriarch whale guiding you through the unseen, holding what you are not meant to carry forward.

Let something be completed without needing to fully understand it.

Before Moving Into What Is Next

There can be a pull to move quickly into the energy of Aries. To begin again. To take action.

But this threshold moment matters.

Integration is what makes forward movement sustainable.

So before the season shifts:

  • Pause

  • Breathe

  • Let it land

Ride the waves, but stay anchored.
